The Cabin Area

A horseshoe of 20 cabins, each representing an Olympian god or goddess, arranged around a central fire pit.

The Big House

The camp's headquarters — a large blue Victorian house where the camp director (Mr. D / Dionysus) and Chiron reside.

The Half-Blood Hill

The entrance to camp, guarded by Thalia's Pine tree (a magical barrier) and a golden fleece on its branches.

The Forest

A dense, dangerous forest used for Capture the Flag. Home to monsters, dryads, and creatures of all kinds.

The Beach & Lake

The shoreline where Poseidon's children feel most at home. The canoe lake sits between the cabins and the forest.

The Amphitheater

An outdoor theater where camp-wide announcements, sing-alongs, and award ceremonies are held around a bonfire.

Camp Half-Blood Cabins

There are 20 cabins at Camp Half-Blood. The original 12 were built for the Olympian gods; additional cabins were constructed after the Second Titan War as more gods claimed their children. Each cabin reflects its patron deity's personality.

Activities at Camp Half-Blood

Training at Camp Half-Blood is dangerous by design. Chiron believes the only way to prepare demigods for the real world of monsters and gods is to simulate it as closely as possible.

The Lava Wall

A climbing wall that periodically shoots jets of lava. Ares cabin controls the lava flow, making it extra dangerous for rivals.

Capture the Flag

The camp's most intense team event. Cabins form alliances, use their divine powers, and fight through the forest to capture the opposing team's flag.

Sword & Combat Training

Daily sparring sessions in the arena with celestial bronze or imperial gold weapons. Ares cabin is known to be relentlessly brutal here.

Archery Range

Overseen by Apollo cabin. A massive range where campers practice with bows — some children of Apollo can shoot blindfolded.

The Forge

Hephaestus cabin's domain. Campers can craft their own celestial bronze weapons and mechanical contraptions here.

Pegasus Stables

Home to the camp's winged horses. Only those accepted by the pegasi can ride them — Poseidon's children have a natural advantage.

The Strawberry Fields

Campers (especially from Demeter and Dionysus cabins) tend the magical strawberry fields. Selling these to mortals provides the camp's primary income.

The Dining Pavilion

The outdoor cafeteria where campers eat by cabin. Demigods burn the best portion of their meals in the central hearth as an offering to their godly parents.

The Oracle

An ancient mummy housed in the attic of the Big House, channeling the spirit of Delphi to deliver cryptic prophecies to heroes about to embark on quests.

History of Camp Half-Blood

Camp Half-Blood has existed in some form since the era of Ancient Greece. Originally located at the base of Mount Olympus, the camp has physically moved over the centuries, following the "Flame of the West" — the heart of Western Civilization. It moved from Greece to Rome, then across Europe, eventually settling in the United States.

Today, the camp is located on Long Island, protected by powerful magical borders. The modern camp owes much of its layout to George Washington (a son of Athena) and the architectural updates made by Annabeth Chase after the Second Titan War. It serves as the only truly safe haven for Greek demigods, where they can train, live, and learn to survive in a world filled with monsters.
